I struggled to get through this. Although the premise is rather wonderful, the protagonist is egocentric, shallow and macho, a perfect match to all my prejudices of Italian men. 2024 begint niet slecht!

Het begint ijzersterk en je merkt dat er een topschrijver aan het werk is. 2de deel van het boek kon me niet echt overtuigen. Toch 3 sterren omwille van de stijl. Gelezen tijdens de corona quarantaine van 2020.

Ik beken. Ik hou van al wat Italiaans is. Niet in het minst van Italiaanse literatuur. Sandro Veronesi wordt door zijn uitgeverij op de achterflappen van zijn boeken voorgesteld als de belangrijkste Italiaanse auteur van het moment. Ik moet dus wel van zijn boeken houden. Ho sensazioni contrastanti per questo libro. Mi è piaciuto, perché è molto molto scorrevole e mai pesante.
