Sinossi

Some of Carver’s poetry amused. Some was poignant. I cannot say that it hit me hard, as poetry often does. Here is a sample from The Best Time of Day: Cool summer nights, Windows open. Lamps Burning. Fruit in the bowl. And your head on my shoulder. These the happiest moments in the day. Next to the early Leggi tutto

Thanks to the poet that recommended this book. I was greatly impressed with Carver’s economy and versatility as a poet. He writes about a wide variety of subjects with equal grace, though a tragic note seems to provide some continuity between each topic. The poems reminded me of the poems in the Rus Leggi tutto
