Cenerentola priva del candore della fiaba, Jane è la piccola governante che affascina e poi sposa il suo padrone, né bella né attraente secondo i canoni ottocenteschi della femminilità, forse ignara delle arti sottili della seduzione, ma animata da una volontà incrollabile che travolge ogni ostacolo e la preserva immune dalle tentazioni disseminate sull’aspro cammino che conduce alla realizzazione di sé come donna.

Certainly one of the best novels ever written.
My friend told me this book is kinky and she isn’t wrong. This was much weirder and darker than I thought it was going to be. All the edgy contemporary lit girlies wish they were doing it like her.
