The real problem is in the font face used for the notation lines: the 'c' and 'e' are much too similar, and moving the c pawn

Okay chess book for beginners, although the book tries to accomplish too much. Opening, middle game, and end game theoretical concepts are explained insufficiently or too high level. The Dutch version ("De Schaakwijzer") contains many inaccuracies.

I love this book. I am a complete beginner and this grabbed me right at the start. It will be a stalwart on my shelf.

Going over this book is a headache, and a half when you actually look at the notation of moves listed, and realize that the notation in many examples has the wrong moves noted.
