La passione li travolge, e presto Jane si trasferisce da Eddie. È tutto perfetto. Forse troppo. Perché negli occhi azzurri del suo fidanzato, Jane vede passare ombre che le fanno venire i brividi. E il fantasma della bellissima Bea, la prima moglie scomparsa in un tragico incidente in barca, aleggia in quella casa, e negli sguardi e i sussurri dei nuovi vicini. Come se non fosse mai andata via. Ma non è degli spettri che Jane deve avere paura. Qualcosa di più spaventoso si nasconde tra quelle pareti. E non ha intenzione di restare a guardare. Con echi di grandi classici come "Jane Eyre" e "Rebecca la prima moglie", un romanzo che sorprende fino all'ultima pagina, mostrandoci come i mostri peggiori possano celarsi dietro muri di apparenze decorati a regola d'arte.

Hmm, is this really a thriller? I feel like the wires might have gotten crossed for me. I was gonna give this 2 stars for entertainment value, but then I got to “Reader, I fucked him” and it broke me.
A quick and easy read if you want a thriller fix. I found much of the story to be very predictable though, and even the new twists the author added were easy to guess, because I was already familiar with the original Jane Eyre story. I wish the book had taken a bigger leap to be more surprising and
