My daughter randomly grabbed this book off the library shelf, and I never deny her a book, so we checked it out—mostly drawn in by the amazing illustrations. I don't think Alemagna is a very good writer (CHILD OF GLASS, e.g., is beautiful and hollow), her stories are just... uninspired. This is another heavy-handed tale of an abandoned child, but I admired that she stood unconditionally on the side of children, or at least this child. There's real joy at Leggi tutto

Delightful, charming and filled with warmth and humor. Possibly my favorite picture book this year!

I really liked the story and the art style was funky. My 3 year old vaguely paid attention to the story but had many questions about the pictures.
