Terry ama passare le giornate intrattenendosi in allegria con donne di diversa età e provenienza, convinto che la cosa più importante sia cercare, sempre e comunque, di «godersi la corsa». Eppure, nella vita, fin troppe cose lo distolgono dal dedicarsi alla sua attività prediletta. All’aeroporto viene ingaggiato come autista part-time da Ronald Checker, un miliardario di Atlanta, nonché star dei reality televisivi: vuole che Terry gli faccia da guida a Edimburgo per aiutarlo ad accaparrarsi tre bottiglie di whisky costosissimo. Nel frattempo un gangster locale gli affida la supervisione del suo «centro benessere», in realtà una sauna-bordello, dove lavora Jinty, prostituta ninfomane che nella notte dell’uragano scompare misteriosamente, e a Terry toccherà anche scoprire che fine ha fatto la ragazza.

I live for new Welsh novels. Nothing can beat being amazed and disgusted whilst pishing yourself laughing at the same time. A Decent Ride was absolutely no exception; I loved it.
