Invece di passare l'estate a giocare con gli amici, Gregor si ritrova a gestire Boots, la sorellina di due anni, che parla come un alieno in miniatura. Un giorno, la piccola pestifera si tuffa oltre una grata e sparisce. Gregor si lancia all'inseguimento e finisce nel Sottomondo, un luogo straordinario e terribile, abitato da umani dalla pelle bianchissima e dagli occhi viola, che si sono anticamente rifugiati sottoterra per sfuggire a una persecuzione, e lì hanno creato un mondo parallelo, dove si vola in sella a pipistrelli giganti, ci si allea con gli scarafaggi e si combatte contro ragni e ratti bianchi... I want to give this book so many more than 5 stars. It was SO SO FREAKING GOOD!!! (I pressed the exclamation mark on my phone really hard then just for extra emphasis) :) Being a book that is intended for younger readers than me, I thought this would just be a fun little read.
