La sua agenzia investigativa ha avuto un tale successo che, per combattere lo stress, Agatha Raisin decide di chiuderla nei fine settimana. Ma ben presto la quiete domestica trascolora in un’incontrastabile noia e quindi Agatha accetta con entusiasmo la proposta del pastore di un villaggio vicino, che intende coinvolgerla nella promozione della festa parrocchiale. Un entusiasmo che addirittura s’impenna quando Agatha scopre che il responsabile dell’evento, George Selby, è un vedovo estremamente affascinante… Sulle prime, la festa sembra riuscitissima, ma poi succede una cosa incredibile: durante la gara per scegliere la migliore marmellata casalinga, due concorrenti muoiono, in apparenza sotto l’effetto di qualche droga, e altre due persone hanno un infarto. The more I read about Agatha Raisin, the more I like her! She is bossy, rude, lies, falls in 'lust' easily, yet she is funny and she gets the job done. She does not give up and will yell 'snakes and bastards!' and tell you to 'sod off' if you say something to her. I enjoy this series.
