The pictures in the book transport you back to a time when India was on the cusp of a major economic change. Don't believe for a second that most of these images truly represents India. The images that aren't staged or heavily edited or strategically framed are unfailingly exoticist, intentionally capturing a very particular vision of 'India.' But these are undeniably beautiful images.
Of course, it's a great book!

Absolutely beautiful pictures of India. I was a bit disappointed in the quality of the printing, however.
