In Raving, McKenzie Wark tratteggia un ritratto intimo e collettivo della scena rave trans e queer di New York. The writing is competent and has style but the writer has an interesting veiwpoint. One that doesnt really leave space for the rest of the boring or “dangerous” people that live and work in Brooklyn and have been living here since before any of these ravers even had the thought to move here…. This is a beautiful set of thoughts and a first-hand account of raving in New York City, with some insights into a trans woman's experience of it. I have mixed feeling. Concerning the personal/autofiction parts, I'm not judging the content but I must admit I did not love the writing.
