Sinossi

Another wonderful collection of yokai from Matthew Meyer. There's a good variety of creatures featured here, from ghosts, to animals, to illnesses, to objects that have taken on a life of their own, and each one is illustrated in a very lively, colorful fashion. The origins of these yokai are as var Leggi tutto
Truly a great book This is probably one of the most interesting books in the three book volume. It has info on famous Yokai such as the ancestor of the first emperor of Japan which is female.
Matthew Meyer runs yokai.com, which I love and use a lot on my personal research on yokai. Good source of information. Also, his artwork is somehow more beautiful more printed in than it is on a computer screen.
Lots of yokai with thoroughly researched explanations. Featured more monsters & animals than the other books in the same series. Overpriced for being only part of a series, and the organization/ordering could be improved with more logic, but the quality of the storytelling was good.
