For some readers this book could be "the spoonful of sugar" that helps the medicine go down. And so as a way of introducing Science to the novice and/or the Young, through humour and jokes and funny characters and equally funny illustrations, it would mostly be a Sure Thing. As a child I loved both history and science, so as you can imagine I loved both the Horrible Histories books and the Horrible Science books.
