Siegfried Heidl è il più celebre truffatore d'Australia. Alla vigilia del processo che segnerà il suo destino una grande casa editrice decide di pubblicare la sua autobiografia, commissionandola a un "ghostwriter". L'incarico viene affidato a Kiff Kehlman, giovane aspirante scrittore con famiglia a carico e ambizioni al momento frustrate dalla realtà. This is a beautifully written book. My copy is dog-eared countless times at pages where the prose took my breath away. At the same time, I found it quite a bleak, harrowing read. The descent into madness. The poverty. The loss of love. It is a painful parable for the age of Trump and reality TV.
