3.5-4 stars Jason Reynolds is such an amazing writer! I was skeptical about grown man writing from the perspective of a young girl, but he nailed it! And I turned back toward the track to join my boys. Patty is incredible. She is one of my favorite characters that I have ever gotten to know and it pains me that I will never meet her in real life. Easy to read YA book. It shows itself as a follow-up to Ghost but I missed some of the connection. The social problems are very well handled. Fast paced story. Recommend
OK, I liked it. I really did. But I loved Ghost so much, that you couldn't help but be slightly disappointed by this one. It was great, it just wasn't AS great as Ghost's story. This book was shelved in the YA section at my library, but I'm not sure why, because it's solidly middle-grade. So it skewed younger than I was expecting. I'm not sure how to summarize this story.
