I was tempted to give this five stars due to the amount of emotional intelligence demonstrated by the characters. But didn’t have quite enough tension or peril to make the full grade.

Interesting read but, ultimately, I found this one unbelievable, a sentimental tale about Los Angeles gang and drug related criminal activity and the tragedy of an honorable thief. Visit the locations in the novel Perhaps one of the grittiest and most raw novels I’ve read in a long while. I certainly felt that spending so much time with a reformed drug runner turned double agent left me feeling exhausted..in a good way.
