When someone gives a thriller like CHOOSE ME a single star because of what appears to be a overly-sensitive complaint about the subject matter, doing so will simply make people want to read that book all the more. There is no such thing as "bad publicity" today. Controversy drives sales. Our planet
Over and over again I kept screaming at the characters not to do what they were about to do, but they never listened. Stupid people making bad decisions. But still the plot was interesting and surprising, and I enjoyed the read.

The book was well written and compelling, but I couldn’t get over some of the offensive aspects. The book was fatphobic, problematic, and disturbing considering it was written by a college English professor. There were multiple tirades against “political correctness” and trigger warnings. I was so disappointed in this book. I thought as it was Tess Gerritsen it would be like her others which I’ve enjoyed in the past.
