La sera del 27 giugno 2023, Victoria è a cena con altri autori in un ristorante a Kramatorsk, nella regione di Donetsk, quando un missile russo distrugge il locale, provocando la morte di tredici persone e decine di feriti. Lei, colpita alla testa, morirà pochi giorni dopo, il 1° luglio, a soli trentasette anni.
