It was magical, yes. I like the way Mr. Almond narrates smoothly, as if the characters are flowing through the story, as if they were meant to be who they are, to do as they do. I picked this book because it is an Award Winner. I honestly don’t know how it won. It is a coming of ago fantasy. I just could not make it click. 2 1/2 stars
