Doveva essere un'estate speciale per la giovane Cécile, quell'anno in Costa Azzurra, in quella splendida villa bianca affacciata sul Mediterraneo, in compagnia del padre e di Elsa, la sua nuova amante. L'ammirazione nei suoi confronti non impedisce a Cécile, tuttavia, di vedere in Anne una rivale, una minaccia per la propria libertà, al punto da mettere in scena, grazie alla complicità di Elsa e dell'amico Cyril, un gioco sottile e lucidamente orchestrato per dividere i due amanti. U piano perfetto, ma con esiti del tutto inattesi e ben più drammatici e devastanti di quanto Cécile avesse mai potuto prevedere.
