A seguito di un'invasione aliena, la comunità internazionale affida le sorti della Terra a un gruppo di ultras scozzesi che ha iniziato gli aggressori alle delizie del tabagismo. E come al solito finisce tutto a tarallucci e acido. Albert Black, bigottissimo insegnante di religione ormai a riposo, va a Miami per riflettere sulla precarietà della vicenda umana, irrimediabilmente segnata dalla presenza del maligno. Ma qui incontra per strada due ex allievi molto speciali (Gas Terry e N-Sign, protagonisti di "Colla") e nel volgere di una serata si trasforma nel formidabile DJ Black. La domenica del derby, Malky rischia di perdere il fischio d'inizio perché sua moglie finisce sotto il treno. Tra ambulanza e bambini che strillano, la giornata sportiva sembra compromessa: meno male che la partita finisce zero a zero. Sono solo alcuni degli spunti narrativi di "Tutta colpa dell'acido", che riunisce una serie di racconti di Irvine Welsh composti nell'arco di un decennio, a partire dai primi anni Novanta. Cinici o indifesi di fronte alla spudorata incommensurabilità del mondo, i protagonisti di queste storie sono sempre animati da una scrittura fresca e ispirata, carica di quell'irresistibile forza esilarante che redime ogni peccato nell'universo amaro dell'autore di "Trainspotting".

This book was great! I've become a huge fan of Welsh and I really enjoyed these new/old stories involving various characters in his universe. The novella at the end, I am Miami, is like a sequel to both Porno and Glue. Juice Terry is one of Welsh's best characters and I found this new adventure of h Leggi tutto
I really like this writer a lot. He has the right mixture of out and out grossness and also is deceptively deep in his subject matter/plots. I will go out of my way to read what he writes in the future.
A reeking heap of a treasure.
I am a committed Irvine Welsh fan. I think what he does with the Scottish dialect is incredibly creative. I have never read another author who I could so clearly hear while I am reading. "Reheated Cabbage" collects a handful of short stories that Welsh has published elsewhere over the past few years, and like any such anthology there is variation in the quality and cohesion of the book as a whole.
