Chi è questa donna? E chi è Rose, colei che firma le lettere misteriose? Lucy deve scoprirlo a tutti i costi. È convinta che lì, nei frammenti della vita dimenticata delle due donne, e forse in quella di una bambina abbandonata, si nasconda un segreto terribile.

I loved the family-history part of the story, both the suffragette's actual story, and how the protagonist traces this forgotten branch of the family through historical archives (what can I say? I totally agree with another reviewer said this book is "awful." That was the only word I could think of to describe it. Edwards' first book, The Memory Keeper's Daughter, was o.k.
