Grandi cambiamenti nella vita di Georges: cambia scuola e deve fare i conti con i bulli della classe, cambia casa perché il papà ha perso il lavoro e per di più vede poco la sua mamma infermiera, che inizia improvvisamente a fare i doppi turni. La nuova casa è sempre a Brooklyn, a pochi isolati di distanza, ma è un po' più piccola e un po' più vuota. Ben presto, però, Georges (con la finale in onore del pittore Seurat) diventa amico di un'eccentrica famiglia di vicini. Ne fanno parte il coetaneo Safer, dog-sitter ufficiale del caseggiato e spia in erba, la sorellina Candy, golosissima di caramelle, e l'inquieto adolescente Pigeon, appassionato di uccelli. Safer fa entrare Georges nel "Club delle Spie", gli insegna i trucchi del mestiere e lo coinvolge nel caso del fantomatico Mr. X, che abita al quarto piano e, a suo dire, è sempre vestito di nero, non parla mai ed entra in casa con valigie sospette. Tra segreti e bugie Georges, cresce e soprattutto impara a vedere le cose da diverse prospettive, consapevole del fatto che noi siamo soltanto dei puntini nel grande quadro dell'universo, come i puntini nei dipinti di Georges Seurat, ma che ogni puntino ha pur sempre la sua importanza.
