I genuinely cannot believe this is a debut. Mannion’s writing is so beautiful and atmospheric, not to mention the amazing ability to ground this story in such a vivid reality. 3.5 Stars: What drew me to this novel is the premise that a mother kicks out of the car her 12 year-old daughter after the girl was being a bit cheeky.
