E' ciò che succede al ventottenne Vitangelo Moscarda, ricco erede di un banchiere, quando un commento distratto della moglie gli fa notare per la prima volta un difetto fisico che aveva sempre ignorato: il suo naso pende lievemente verso destra e lui non se ne era mai accorto.
