I love Cronin’s epic story about a world destroyed by a virus that creates vampires. How can it be rated?!? Seriously? Simmer down folks. After waiting for years, I can say this was a fitting end and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

I’m sure that I did this book a grave disservice by jumping straight back into the story without rereading, or at least skimming, the first two books in the series to refresh my memory of all the events that have led up to this point. 4.5! I think this is the first time I've really wanted a .5 option. Cronin's concluding volume in his post-apocalyptic vampire saga is a lovely novel. Lovely!
