Enjoyable.
This is a wonderful piece of history in itself, recording the history of the English Country House. It's a really interesting book, not so much for the history it is purporting to portray, but for the history of the author (who lived at Knole house and was a member of the aristocracy) and the method Leggi tutto
A very chatty little tome that comes across as a rough outline for something grander and deeper. Not much history but that's fine because of the beautiful artwork

Beautifully written, illustrated and produced. This book is from the perspective of someone who has no knowledge of any but the upper class, but it does show good knowledge of the English country houses and an interesting take on what it means to belong to a country.
