A great book for newbies to lettering. Explains the how-to's pretty darn well, and encourages practice. There are blank practice pages in the book, good if you purchase it rather than check it out from the library, but I'm not sure it was the best use of pages unless you want to crack the spine to m Leggi tutto
Really pretty and fun. However, since it covers a few different art styles on lettering like calligraphy and chalk lettering, don't expect an in-depth art book on the techniques. Probably great when looking for inspiration.
Would be great for someone with more knowledge (and money to spend on supplies). I assumed it was more basic than it was but will be good once I get a better grasp on the skills!
More like "projects to make while tracing fonts." I don't know, maybe it's because I do hand-lettering myself but I feel like this is really elementary. I guess this is a good book to start with if you are absolutely a beginner. I was a bit tentative reading this when I realized it's a Walter Foster book and my fears materialized. Lots of examples but not much in the way of design theory - so unless you are already talented and have a creative eye,

I would recommend this book series for letterers who have some background and experience with letterforms and or art.
