Hap è bianco, malinconico, intellettuale e vota per Democratici. Leonard è un nero gay, va pazzo per il folk, è un po' manesco e vota per i Repubblicani. Sono amici e hanno in comune uno spiccato senso di giustizia e una capacità senza pari di andarsi a mettere nei guai. Dopo l'uragano che gli ha distrutto casa, Hap si è trasferito da Leonard. La convivenza dei due non è facile, tanto più che Hap medita di andare a stare con la sua nuova fidanzata, la bella Brett. Ed è proprio Brett a dare il via alla nuova avventura. Kinda repetitive but kinda still fun. Hap seems to be learning the same thing in every book...but maybe that's the point? That it takes a while to truly change?
