Cotton Malone, un ex agente operativo al servizio del Dipartimento di giustizia americano, si sta godendo la sua nuova vita a Copenaghen, dove gestisce una libreria antiquaria. Ma la tranquillità di un'esistenza appartata non è destinata a durare a lungo. Tutto comincia quando Cotton assiste a uno scippo ai danni del suo ex superiore, Stephanie Nelle, giunta in Danimarca per partecipare a un'asta di libri antichi. Cotton capisce subito che quella rapina non è casuale, anche perché il ladro muore subito dopo in circostanze misteriose. Non pensavo che dopo aver letto "Il Codice da Vinci" avrei trovato un nuovo thriller storico-religioso così entusiasmante e coinvolgente. Un testo scritto in maniera scorrevole e che si legge tutto d'un fiato anche quando l'autore affronta spiegazioni storiche. E' riuscito a renderle in maniera chiara, accurata e ben amalgamate con la trama. Personaggi interessanti e ben caratterizzati, ritmo incalzante e un mistero affascinante da risolvere. Naturalmente non mancano le Note finali dove l'autore spiega ciò che é pura fantasia letteraria e ciò che ha un fondamento di verità.

Steve Berry is the thinking man's Dan Brown. I was immediately impressed after reading The Romanov Prophecy, and The Third Secret. The Templar Legacy does not disappoint. Ho hum! Dan Brown's DA VINCI CODE did it first and, most definitely, did it best! Now the genre is overcrowded with wannabes, copycats and third-rate knock-offs!
