“Each of us has his or her reasons for being as we are, for continuing with the lives we lead; ordinary lives, of course, but touched here and there with moments of understanding and insight, and sheer marvel.” Lovely little read.
How I do with we could use half stars because this is a 4.5 rather than flat four. I am a massive fan of Alexander McCall Smith's work. One of the things I love about him is ability to jump from series to series and give to each a unique voice. The voice of No 1 Ladies Detective Agency is different
