I enjoyed the tv show, now I am enjoying the books.

Don't come to this series for the mysteries. They are actually quite uninteresting. The resolutions are nothing like what any self-respecting mystery fan would call satisfying, and justice is rarely served. However. That's not to say this isn't a great series.
