Ci è voluto un atroce mal di denti per convincere Hamish Macbeth ad andare dal dottor Frederick Gilchrist, un dentista che esercita a Braikie, a una trentina di chilometri da Lochdubh. Il fatto è che Hamish diffida assai di quell’uomo: ci terrebbe a mantenere la sua dentatura intatta e invece il medico ha una spiccata tendenza all’estrazione selvaggia. Ma il problema non si pone: quando arriva allo studio, Hamish trova Gilchrist cadavere e capisce che, prima di morire, l’uomo è stato seviziato coi suoi stessi strumenti. I always enjoy a Hamish Macbeth story. In this one, a dentist is murdered and Hamish is on the case to find the killer. On the way, he deals with Blaire, Jimmy and Patricia Hallburton-Smythe. I love all the characters of this small Scottish town and wish I could visit there!
