Agatha ce l'ha fatta! Dopo che l'ultima indagine ha permesso a lei e a James di vivere qualche giorno insieme, James inaspettatamente le chiede di sposarlo. Stupore, rabbia, imbarazzo: James, furibondo, intima ad Agatha di non farsi più vedere, e Jimmy tenta di estorcere dei soldi ad Agatha, che lo caccia in malo modo. La successiva apparizione di Jimmy è in forma di cadavere, assassinato nei pressi di Carsely. Inizia così l'indagine più importante di Agatha, che non solo vede allontanarsi del tutto l'amato James, ma è accusata di omicidio...
Il matrimonio assassino è la 5a storia di Agatha Raisin, ma può essere letta e apprezzata indipendentemente dall'ordine della serie.

Darker than the earlier books, this installment of Agatha Raisin includes treachery and near marriage. Second reading, this book really describes the selfishness of James Lacey. Third reading tells me I return to the book for the recurring characters.
